Dear Reader, May

As May begins, I find myself holding a bundle of emotions, excitement, nervousness, a little anxiety, and that ever-present reminder to breathe and take things one step at a time. I know I’m not alone in that feeling. So if you're entering this month with a full heart and a to-do list longer than your patience, I see you.

For me, May has always carried the energy of rebirth. Transition. It’s the month I bloom a little, stretch a little, and whisper to the universe that I’m ready to receive. I’m in a state of expectancy, eyes open for the good that’s coming. And you know what? I believe it’s coming, for both of us.

One cozy joy I’ve been holding onto? Handing a copy of The Secret Map to my niece and nephew.

“Aunt D, you wrote a book?!” That moment? That little wide-eyed joy? Priceless. One thug tear was shed, lol. And I’ll never forget it.

So, what’s new around here?

Creatively, my brain is on fire (send snacks). I’m juggling multiple projects; a romance, a cozy fantasy, and book two in The Secret Map series. It’s wild, but it’s also proof that the writing well is flowing again and I’m endlessly grateful for that.

My Patreon launched on May 1st, and it’s been such a joy creating content for my cozy little community of readers, writers, and journalers. If you’d like to join us, you can find me at patreon.com/LoveJustD.

Meanwhile, I’m preparing for two big moments:

  • The preorder for The Secret Map (coming in June)
  • And the preorder for Breathe Write Reflect (also launching in June)

This month’s goal? Keep it simple. Set up the preorders. Batch some content. And most importantly, get the chaos out of my head and onto paper. (Seriously, lists are saving me right now.)

A little reflection...

April taught me that time truly doesn’t wait for anyone. It flew by and I almost missed it. My journaling has been off, and I can feel it. When I journal, I slow down. I breathe deeper. Without it, my thoughts scatter like confetti.

But here’s the bright side: my writing has become my steady. After over a decade of feeling blocked, the words are flowing. The stories are coming. It’s like I found my way back home.

This month, my mantra is simple:

“Be Here Now.”

I’m working to stay present; on the page, in my life, in each bottle of water (hydration is important) and scribbled thought.

Before I go...

I want to ask you something:

What’s something you’re grateful for this month?

Write it down. Whisper it if you must. Even if it feels small...especially if it feels small.

And if you’d like to follow along with my stories and reflections, here’s where you can find me:

Wishing you calm mornings, creative sparks, and space to grow this May.

With love,

D. O. Robinson
